Watercolour Flower

The stamp set You've Got This is a great choice for images to water colour. This card was recently made in one of my projects clubs.

I made this card by stamping the flower image in black ink and water colouring the flower using ink refills and and an aqua painter.

The background stamp is a part of the same stamp set and is a quick way to add some detail and a point of interest to the card.

I love everything about the Botanical Gardens collection of products from the Occasions catalogue. The images the colours and of course the fact that you have coordinating framelit dies.....no fussy cutting!

This card was made from a swatch that was completed at the On Stage event last November. I was able to add a little more texture and detail to the Designer Series Paper by stamping the veins onto the leaves.

Try It Tuesday - Pinwheel Fun Fold

Pinwheel Fun Fold

Materials:
8” square of DSP
4 ½ ” square coloured cardstock
4 ¾ “  square white  cardstock
4” square coloured cardstock
 Coordinating cardstock, ribbon and embellishments
Stamps and inks
Sticky strip
Simply scored with the diagonal plate

Steps:
1.  Using the diagonal plate, place the 8” square of DSP on the board with the pattern to be on the “inside” being face down.  Score diagonally at 3” on all four sides.

2. Where the score lines intersect they will form a triangle. Cut all four triangles out.

3.  Remove the diagonal plate. Place the DSP onto the board with the “inside” pattern facing up. Score 1” from the top down to the halfway point/triangle. Repeat on all four sides.

4. Fold the 1” score lines away from the groove. Repeat on all four sides.

5. Fold the 3” score lines in the opposite direction. Repeat on all four sides.

6.  Create the pinwheel. Fold up the bottom flap, and then fold over the flap to the left (clockwise), repeat with the third flap. Fold over the last flap and tuck it under the first flap.

7. Decorate as desired.

Try it Tuesday - Waterfall Card

Waterfall Card

Materials:
15cm x 10.5cm heavy white cardstock (base)
14.5cm x 10cm coloured cardstock (for matting)
14cm x 9.5cm white  cardstock
23cm x 5cm coloured cardstock
 5cm x 5cm coloured cardstock – need 4 (for matting)
4.5cm x 4.5cm white cardstock – need 4
9.5cm x 2cm coloured cardstock
2 x brads
Ribbon and embellishments
Stamps and inks
Sticky strip

Steps:
1 Decorate the 14cm x 9.5cm and the 4.5cm x 4.5cm cardstock using stamps and inks.

2. Once decorated these can be adhered to the coloured cardstock mats.

3.  Score the 23cm x 5cm cardstock at 5cm, 7cm, 9cm and 11cm. Fold the score lines. This will become the “waterfall”.

4. Place adhesive along the bottom edge of the 23cm x 5cm cardstock. The bottom edge is opposite the 5cm score line.

5. Adhere this to the 9.5cm x 2cm strip – be sure to centre it. You do not want to attach the unscored end to this strip!

6. Place a small amount of adhesive on each end of the 9.5cm x 2cm strip. Attach this to the 14cm x 9.5cm cardstock. Be sure that the top of the “waterfall” does not go above the top of the card front when it is flat on the card.

7. Pierce one hole in each side of the 9.5cm x 2cm strip – make sure it goes through all three layers. Set a brad in each hole.

8. Adhere this to the front of the card base.

9. Adhere the first 5cm x 5cm square to the space scored at the end of the waterfall.

10. Apply adhesive to the scored sections of the waterfall and attach the remaining 5cm x 5cm squares. Do not apply the adhesive to the whole back of the 5cm x 5cm square – only the 2cm scored sections of the waterfall.

11. Punch the long end of the waterfall with a tag punch and attach the ribbon.
