Try it Tuesday - Distressing cardstock

Products needed: Cardstock, inks, distressing tool, stamp sets, stamping sponge - please refer to the full list of products at the bottom of this post.

Step One: Ink the back ground stamp set (I used Hardwood from the occasions catalogue) in Crumb Cake ink. Place the crumb cake cardstock on top of the stamp and place a scrap piece of paper over the top and rub.
Please note that when using a large stamp it is easiest to leave the stamp on the table and place everything on top of it. Use the scrap of copy paper to avoid getting too much ink on your hands.

Step Two: Scrunch the stamped cardstock up. Scrunch in different ways - the cardstock will become softer as the fibres start to break down. Don't worry if you tear the cardstock slightly it will add to the distressed look.

Step Three: Open the cardstock slightly and ink directly onto the creases with the ink pads. I used Night of Navy and Cajun Craze ink.

Step Four: Use the distressing tool around all the edges to fluff them up a bit more and add a few more small tears with the tool.

Step Five: Ink the edges of the cardstock. I used Cajun Craze ink.

Step: Six: Adhere the distressed cardstock onto a cardstock mat. I ran my finger nail around all the edges of the distressed cardstock to fluff them up and make the small tears stand out a little bit more.

Step Seven: Complete the card as desired.

Products Used:

Very Vanilla A4 (#106550)
Night of Navy A4 (#106577)
Crumb Cake A4 (#121685)
Black StazOn ink (#101406)
Cajun Craze ink (#126965)
Night of Navy ink (#126970)
Crumb Cake ink (#126975)
Hardwood stamp set (#133035) Occasions Catalogue
Harvest Blessing stamp set (#126452)
Distressing tool (#127562)
Stamping sponge (#101610)
Burlap ribbon (#132140) Occasions Catalogue

Try it Tuesday - Shaving Foam Technique

The supplies that you will need to complete this technique are: shaving foam, ink refills (I used Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso), a clean tray (I used a washed meat tray), Whisper White cardstock, an icy-pole stick and paper towel.
Other porducts include: Black StazOn, an aqua painter, stamp set, cardstock and embellishments, big shot and circle collection framelit dies.

Step one: Spray some shaving foam into the tray and level it out using an icy-pole stick.

Step Two: Add a few drops of each ink refill onto the shaving foam.

Step Three: Use the icy-pole stick to swirl the ink around a little bit.

Set Four: Place the cardstock onto the tray and press down until the shaving foam oozes out of the sides of the cardstock.

Step Five: Lift the cardstock out.

Step Six: Using the paper towel rub the shaving foam off the cardstock in a circular motion. The cardstock will curl up a little bit but will flatten again as it dies. Allow the cardstock to dry fore using on your project.

Step Seven: Stamp your image onto white cardstock in StazOn ink. The stamp set I used was So Very Grateful (#133053) from the occasions catalogue.

Step Eight: Colour the image using ink refills and an aqua painter.

Step Nine: Using the big shot and circle framelits cut out one circle. I used pear pizzazz cardstock.

To finish off my project: I fussy cut the flower image and stamped Thank You onto the circle using black StazOn.
I placed two lines of Blushing Bride ribbon onto the white cardstock and adhered the bow using a glue dot.
I placed dimentionals under the circle to adhere it to the front of the card.
I finished off by adding basic rhinestone in two corners.

Try It Tuesday - Star Burst Card

The products needed for this project are; 6 pieces of Designer Series Paper (I used Retro Fresh), cardstock, stamp sets (I used Express Yourself 130339 and Happy Day 130297) ink, embellishments, pencil, ruler and paper trimmer.

Step One: Cut each piece of DSP on the diagonal using the paper trimmer.

Step Two: I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 9.5cm x 14cm. Measure down 6cm from the long edge of the cardstock and rule a line. This is only a guide line and will not be seen.

Step Three: Place pieces of the DSP onto the cardstock in the order that you would like them to go. Line up the thinnest end along the line with the points meeting.

Step Four: Cover the top section on the cardstock with glue stick and place all of the pieces on. You may need to trip a little bit on one piece of DSP so it fits nicely.
This is how it looks once it is all stuck down.

Step Five: Trim the excess DSP off the cardstock and decorate the card as desired.

If you would like to purchase any of the products used please go to my online store or please leave me a message and I will contact you.
